Logs and analytics

Runtime logs#

Project › Logs shows every request line, console.log output and uncaught exception from your site, newest first, for the last 7 days. Filter by level, type and text; the filters live in the URL so you can share a view. Live follows new lines as they happen.

From the terminal: hostedge logs (add -f to follow).

Each plan stores a number of log lines per day across the workspace (see Limits). Past that, until midnight UTC, every error and exception is still kept but only 1 in 100 other lines, chosen per request so a request's lines stay together; the logs page says when this is happening. Request counts in Analytics are not affected.

Analytics#

Project › Analytics charts requests and 5xx errors over 24 hours, 7 days or 30 days, with bandwidth, error rate, top paths, status classes and countries. Numbers are recorded by HostEdge's edge router for every request to your site, including static assets.

Usage#

Requests and bandwidth also count toward your plan's monthly allowance, shown in Settings › Billing & usage.
